Playing catch-up with my patterns this week. Enjoy!
Fact: I hand-paint the elements for all these patterns (yes, even these circles that I could have very easily-and quickly!-created in illustrated…But painting is the fun part :)

Eight, 11x11 in. oil on board.
For those that know me, my fascination with ships (and the sea) has been long-standing, so what better way to obsess over them, then by painting 8….in one piece.
I sketched the concept and drew out the painting over a year ago, then it sat…for a long time. I finally revisited it, painted the whole piece and then it sat some more. I had big/different plans for the background, and after a few attempts and still feeling unsatisfied I decided to sand it off. So that’s where it stands. I’m still unsure if I really think it’s finished, but this is where I’ll leave it for now.

Wino, 8 x 10, oil on board
This piece was created for the show “Is this thing on? 2,”- Artists depict their favorite comedians once again
The show opens March 9th at Gallery 1988, 7020 Melrose Ave, Los Angeles CA
I personally am not a huge comedian buff, but it wasn’t even a question who I wanted my piece to be a tribute to… <3 Mitch
